WaterCard is a public benefits corporation (PBC) that aims to disrupt the status quo of penalizing farmers & ranchers for conserving water by paying them while reducing the purchaser’s water footprint.
WaterCard purchasers receive verified recognition of a specific volume of water they can use to offset their water footprint & meet their sustainability requirements.
Water conservation & regenerative agriculture are key solutions to mitigate the effects of climate change
while safeguarding food production.
WaterCard is water conservation reimagined for the climate-impacted, water-scarce reality of today.
Take voluntary, temporary, & compensated action now!
WaterCard purchases pay farmers & ranchers for conserving Colorado River water (i.e. water is left in a stream, river, or watershed in the Colorado River Basin that would otherwise have been consumed). Initial WaterCard water conservation credits are linked to water conserved at Norse Sky Ranch in Plateau Valley, Colorado. Subsequent rounds of credits will be linked to water conserved at other participating ranches/farms.
What it is
The purchaser, in addition to rewarding water conservation in the Colorado River at a time when it is needed most, is also offsetting their water footprint by a specific amount of water. This water conservation is verified by an interstate water conservation program authorized by Congress and memorialized utilizing blockchain technology.
Each purchaser also receives a digital WaterCard in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT) that can be stored in their token wallet.

When you purchase WaterCard, you’re taking an affirmative step to protect water resources & make real water conservation possible, all while offsetting your water footprint!
Initial WaterCard water conservation credits are linked to water conserved at Norse Sky Ranch in Plateau Valley, Colorado.
While this concept is being proven, 70% of each WaterCard purchase will be transferred to Norse Sky Ranch as the conserving entity. Subsequent rounds of credits will be linked to water conserved at other participating ranches/farms.
Note from the lawyers: WaterCard represents water conservation credits only (i.e. WaterCard purchases do not entitle purchasers to water rights or any volume of water for use).
